I believe organizations, groups, and individuals are the experts on their own experiences. I offer deep listening, thoughtful observations and curious questions to help you make sense of and take a fresh perspective on your present day challenges and opportunities. We’ll work together to come up with a custom plan that incorporates one or many of these service models.

Group Facilitation

Groups and organizations have the capacity for self-reflection, insight, and revelation when they can see past their habitual responses and patterns.

A skilled facilitator creates a trustable environment, allowing participants to have challenging conversations that otherwise feel risky. While these conversations may feel uncomfortable, they are beneficial to the overall functioning of the organization.

An organization can broaden it’s view by bringing forth diverse perspectives, identifying organizational patterns, naming group dynamics, testing out strategies, and exploring assumptions. Elevated awareness can be a catalyst for meaningful changes that promote healthier communication, connectivity and coherence.

Strategic Planning + Visioning

It can be difficult to know how to allocate resources, focus organization energy and make decisions when critical stakeholders and team members do not have the same vision for the future. As organizations and groups evolve and change it can be helpful to engage in a visioning or strategic planning process to gain clarity and perspective about who they have been, where they are now and the direction they would like to be heading.

Working together we can determine the best approach for your organization to craft a shared future vision, identify concrete action steps, and define a plan to monitor goals and assess course corrections as needed.

Mediation

Interpersonal communication is challenging and sometimes we find ourselves in seemingly intractable conflicts. Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process that empowers parties to talk with one another about the impact of their conflict, share feelings and needs, and envision potential solutions. It offers parties the opportunity to engage in equitable decision-making by honoring their self-determination and wisdom to identify viable and successful solutions.

A mediator’s ability to stay neutral, unbiased, and unattached to a particular outcome is foundational. I am a Minnesota Rule 114 qualified civil mediator and have experience mediating in harassment court, housing court and in community settings.

Interim Consulting

Particular seasons in the life of an organization are ripe with uncertainty and possibility. The departure of a longtime leader, a prolonged period of conflict, changing demographics and decreasing funding sources stir up anxiety, fear, and resistance. Having a trustable companion journeying with an organization during a period of change and transition is beneficial.

As an outside consultant, I bring a wondering posture to the work, making invitations, asking questions, and sharing observations. Through an intentional interim process, your organization can gain clarity about what is and what is not working well right now, reflect on where the organization has been, and help define your next steps towards a shared future vision.

Interim consulting services include listening sessions, group facilitation, visioning, strategic planning, retreats, workshops, written reports and deliverables.
